Sam Baxter

Winemaker and proprietor of Terra Valentine, grew up in St. Helena, learning the craft from his father, veteran vintner Phil Baxter. After earning a degree in Fermentation Science from UC Davis in 1998 and gaining winemaking experience in Australia, Sam joined Terra Valentine in 1999 as Cellarmaster. His approach focuses on achieving full ripeness in the vineyard and using minimal intervention in the cellar to create wines that reflect the unique character of Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District.
