Jim Carter

Jim Carter, founder of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa in Temecula Valley, turned a passion for agriculture into a renowned wine destination. After purchasing 400 acres in 1981, he realized the land’s viticulture potential in the mid-1990s. Inspired by the film A Walk in the Clouds, he planted vineyards, and in 2003 opened the winery, featuring villas, a restaurant, and a spa amid 63 acres of vines. South Coast Winery has won over 3,000 awards, including California State Winery of the Year five times. Carter also founded Carter Estate Winery in Temecula and Carter Creek Winery in Texas, combining luxury and fine wine. His journey reflects a deep commitment to quality and innovation in winemaking.
