​Foundation Cellars was founded in 2012 by individuals seeking a creative outlet beyond corporate confines. To bring their vision to life, they collaborated with Darby English, a respected winemaker known for his artistic approach. After assisting during the fall crush and demonstrating their commitment, English agreed to serve as their consulting winemaker, significantly contributing to the development of Foundation Cellars' wine program. ​

Columbia Valley, WA, is Washington State’s largest and most diverse wine region, covering nearly a third of the state. Defined by its arid climate, long sunny days, and cool nights, the valley fosters ideal conditions for grape growing, ensuring balanced acidity and concentrated flavors. Its varied terroir includes volcanic soils, gravelly deposits, and sandy loam, making it home to world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay.
