Varinder & Anita Sahi

Co-owner and winemaker at Copia Vineyards and Winery, brings a rich heritage of agriculture and engineering to his craft. Born in Punjab, India, Varinder's family boasts over thirteen generations of farming history. His early life in a communal, agrarian society instilled in him a profound respect for the land.​ Before venturing into winemaking, Varinder pursued a successful career in engineering. However, his deep-rooted passion for agriculture and the allure of viticulture led him to establish Copia Vineyards in Paso Robles alongside his wife, Anita.​ At Copia, Varinder oversees all aspects of viticulture and winemaking, emphasizing sustainable and organic practices.

The Central Coast wine region of California spans from Monterey to Santa Barbara, offering a diverse and world-renowned viticultural landscape. Its Mediterranean climate, influenced by cool Pacific Ocean breezes, creates ideal conditions for growing a wide range of grapes. The region's varied soils, from sandy loam to limestone, contribute to the distinct character of its wines. Known for exceptional Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Central Coast also showcases innovative blends.
