Anthony Austin

The esteemed winemaker at Clouds Rest Vineyards, brings over three decades of winemaking experience to the estate. A graduate of UC Davis's enology program, Anthony honed his craft under the mentorship of the legendary André Tchelistcheff. In 1976, he directed the inaugural crush at Firestone Vineyard in Santa Barbara, leading to numerous prestigious awards. In 1981, Anthony founded Austin Cellars in Los Olivos, producing notable Pinots from vineyards like Sierra Madre and Bien Nacido until 1992. Since the inception of Clouds Rest, Anthony has been instrumental in crafting wines that capture the unique terroir of Sonoma Mountain, particularly the estate's signature Pinot Noir.
