Bill & Brenda Murphy

Bill and Brenda Murphy are the founders of Clos LaChance Winery, located in San Martin, CA. Their journey began in 1987 when they planted Chardonnay vines in their Saratoga backyard, transforming a passion for wine into a thriving business. The winery officially debuted in 1992, with its name inspired by Brenda’s maiden name, "LaChance." Bill, after a successful career in high-tech at Hewlett-Packard, now oversees operations as CEO. Brenda serves as President, managing human resources, compliance, and finances. Clos LaChance spans a 150-acre estate vineyard, certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance in 2009. Known for their commitment to family, sustainability, and quality, they have created a lasting legacy alongside their daughters, Cheryl and Kristin.
