The combination of Pacific influence, coastal fog and high-elevation creates a genuine cool-climate site, lending Monte Bello a refined elegance. Often called the "First Growth" of America, stylistically Monte Bello sits between Bordeaux and Napa. Epically age-worth, this is a wine that should drink well for 20 years+. Tasting Notes: Ripe cassis, blackberry and redcurrant mingle with graphite, bay laurel, cedar and subtle vanilla. A cool, mineral undercurrent suggests limestone and mint. Full-bodied yet taut, with high acidity and firm, refined tannins driving a persistent, savory finish and lingering spice.
