Kremstal, Austria

Kremstal is a renowned wine region in Lower Austria, nestled along the Danube River between Wachau and Kamptal. Named after the historic city of Krems an der Donau, it features a diverse terroir with primary rock, loess, and gravel soils that influence its expressive wines. The region is best known for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, which range from crisp and mineral-driven to rich and textured. Benefiting from a continental climate with warm days and cool nights, Kremstal wines balance ripe fruit with vibrant acidity. As a DAC-designated area, it upholds strict quality standards, ensuring wines that reflect the authenticity of their terroir while continuing Austria’s deep-rooted winemaking traditions.
