Derek Holstein

The winemaker behind these offerings from Cache Creek is Derek Holstein, who has been with them since their inaugural vintage in 2005. Holstein's winemaking philosophy treats fine wine as an art form, allowing for creative expression that enriches and inspires. He compares his role to that of an orchestra conductor, collaborating closely with the vineyard team to produce harmonious wines. Holstein's career includes experience at renowned Napa Valley wineries such as Trinchero Family Estates, Domaine Chandon, and Christian Brothers. In 1987, he transitioned to Lake County, working for over a decade at Guenoc Winery, where his winemaking earned numerous accolades. In 2006, he launched his own consulting company, with clients including Beckstoffer Vineyards and Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery.
