Orange-New South Wales, Australia

The Orange wine region, located in New South Wales, Australia, is distinguished by its high-altitude vineyards and cool-climate conditions, making it ideal for producing premium wines. Situated on the slopes of Mount Canobolas, an ancient extinct volcano, the region's vineyards are planted at elevations ranging from 600 to over 1,000 meters above sea level. This altitude provides a unique diurnal temperature variation, with warm days and cool nights, allowing grapes to develop complex flavors while retaining natural acidity. The volcanic soils contribute to the distinctive minerality found in the wines. Orange is renowned for its diverse varietal expressions, including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz, each reflecting the region's terroir. The area's commitment to sustainable and organic viticulture practices has further solidified its reputation as a leading wine-producing region in Australia.
