Dutton-Goldfield Emerald Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir Russian River 2021

Started with a handshake in 1998 this small winery has been pursuing a quest for quality, small-batch wines ever since. As co-founder Steve Dutton says “We know our neighborhood better than anyone else. I’m a 5th generation farmer, and Dan has been making wine in this valley for 40 years. This is our home and our passion.” 

Tasting Notes: The 2021 vintage beautifully captures the vibrant berry flavors, baking spices, and plush mouthfeel characteristic of Emerald Ridge. The inviting aromas of black raspberry and dried cranberry are complemented by hints of sweet toffee and delicate lavender. On the palate, the wine is balanced, smooth, and energetic, featuring an initial burst of red berry compote. Notes of blueberry and pomegranate emerge, supported by a velvety layer of fine tannins. The finish is lengthy, showcasing forest floor and savory spice while highlighting the juicy berries and bright acidity.
