Testarossa Winery

Testarossa Winery Tasting Room

Situated in Los Gatos, California, is renowned for producing premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Established in 1993 by Rob and Diana Jensen, the winery began as a weekend winemaking hobby in their Silicon Valley garage. The name

"Testarossa," meaning "red-head" in Italian, was Rob's nickname during his studies in Italy. In 1997, Testarossa relocated to the historic Novitiate Winery, originally built in 1888 by Jesuit Fathers and Brothers from Santa Clara College. This site, known for producing altar wines during Prohibition, is the fourth-oldest continuously operating winery in California.

Bill Brosseau has been the Director of Winemaking since 2000, bringing extensive viticultural experience from his studies at UC Davis and hands-on expertise from his family's vineyard. Under his guidance, Testarossa has established long-term relationships with top growers, ensuring exceptional quality across vintages.

Testarossa sources grapes from esteemed vineyards across various American Viticulturally Areas (AVAs) in California, including:

  • Santa Lucia Highlands AVA: Notable vineyards such as Garys', Rosella's, and Soberanes contribute to the winery's diverse portfolio.

  • Sta. Rita Hills AVA: Vineyards like La Rinconada and Sanford & Benedict provide unique terroirs for their wines.

  • Chalone AVA: Brosseau Vineyard offers distinct characteristics to their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir selections.

Over the years, Testarossa has garnered more than 1,700 scores of 90+ points from renowned wine critics, reflecting their commitment to quality and excellence.
