Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery, nestled in the heart of Paso Robles' Geneseo District, is a testament to over 140 years of family farming heritage. Established in 1884 by the Ernst family, the estate has seen seven generations dedicated to the art of viticulture. In 1982, Howie and Bev Steinbeck planted the first vineyards on their 500-acre property, laying the foundation for premium grape cultivation. Initially supplying esteemed wineries such as Eberle, Justin, and J. Lohr, the Steinbecks ventured into their own wine production in 2006, utilizing just 1% of their vineyard's yield. Their boutique winery specializes in estate-grown varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Viognier. The tasting room, a renovated 1921 blacksmith shop, offers visitors a rustic yet elegant ambiance, adorned with artifacts reflecting the family's rich history. Guests can also partake in "Crash Courses," educational vineyard tours led by family members in a vintage Jeep, providing an immersive experience into the vineyard's operations and legacy.
