Refugio Ranch Vineyards

Refugio's Tasting Room

Refugio Ranch Vineyards is a family-owned winery nestled within a 415-acre former cattle ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. In 2006, the Gleason family transformed 28 acres of this historic land into meticulously farmed vineyards, emphasizing low yields to produce concentrated, high-quality fruit. The estate focuses on Rhône varietals and Sauvignon Blanc, crafting wines that authentically express the unique terroir of the region. The majority of the estate remains unplanted, preserving the natural beauty and rugged charm characteristic of the Santa Ynez Valley. Visitors can experience these exceptional wines at the Los Olivos Tasting Room, located in a thoughtfully restored historic building that once served as a ticket booth and fueling depot for the Pacific Coast Railway. This tasting room offers a serene courtyard and an expansive outdoor deck, providing an inviting atmosphere to explore Refugio Ranch's diverse wine portfolio. Through sustainable farming practices and a deep respect for the land, Refugio Ranch Vineyards embodies the essence of its name—a refuge where nature and winemaking harmoniously converge.
