Ramble Wines, founded by Billy Davies, is deeply rooted in the heritage of California's North Coast wine region. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant Napa Valley era of the 1960s and 1970s, Ramble Wines focuses on reviving heritage grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Carignan, Valdiguié, and Charbono. The winery sources grapes from organically farmed, dry-farmed vineyards, some with vines aged between 75 to 100 years, ensuring wines of exceptional character and depth. One notable vineyard is the Buddha's Dharma Vineyard in Mendocino County, planted in 1944 and certified organic. Ramble Wines emphasizes minimal intervention winemaking techniques, allowing the true essence of the terroir to shine through. This approach results in refreshing wines that pay homage to California's rich viticultural history while appealing to contemporary palates.
