Pascal and Dominique Janvier have dedicated themselves to revitalizing the historic appellation of Jasnières, located in the Sarthe department of the Val du Loir. This region, situated along the Loir River—a tributary of the Loire—is among the most northerly and coldest wine-producing areas in France. Despite its rich viticultural history,

Jasnières had dwindled to less than 100 hectares under vine. The Janviers, through meticulous farming of 66 parcels totaling nine hectares, have showcased the potential of this terroir. Their vineyards, characterized by soils of clay, limestone, sand, and flint (silex), are primarily planted with Chenin Blanc. The resulting wines are celebrated for their exotic aromatics, flinty minerality, and remarkable aging potential.
