Öömrang Winery Inc., located in Stanwood, Washington, is a boutique winery and distillery renowned for its exclusive German-inspired white wines and European-style eaux de vie. Established in 2016 by Edmund and Christine Stoecklein, the winery began as a family endeavor, evolving from a basement winemaking experiment during a Thanksgiving gathering into a celebrated producer of unique varietals.
Estate and Vineyards
The winery's 85-acre estate, known as Öömrang Hüs, is nestled between the Olympic Mountains and the Northern Cascades. This unique location provides a micro-climate reminiscent of Franconia in northern Bavaria, ideal for cultivating rare German white wine varietals. Approximately 22 acres are dedicated to vineyards, where sustainable farming practices are employed to nurture varietals such as Müller-Thurgau, Siegerrebe, Kerner, and Sylvaner.
Eaux de Vie
In addition to their fine white wines, Öömrang produces an extensive range of eaux de vie distilled from the finest fruits and berries. Each eau de vie is crafted by distilling up to 40 pounds of hand-selected fruit per liter, resulting in spirits that capture the pure essence and bouquet of the fruit. Their offerings include Bartlett Pear Brandy, Raspberry Brandy, Cherry Brandy, Apricot Brandy, and the rare Donut Peach Brandy, each celebrated for its distinct aroma and flavor profile.
Commitment to Quality
Öömrang's dedication to quality is evident in their meticulous vineyard management, sustainable farming practices, and careful selection of fruit for their wines and spirits. Their limited production model emphasizes quality over quantity, ensuring that each bottle reflects their passion and craftsmanship.
Öömrang Winery Inc. stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of German winemaking traditions and the unique terroir of Washington State, offering a distinctive and memorable experience in every bottle.
