Established in 1992 by Bill and Brenda Murphy, the winery evolved from a backyard vineyard into a 150-acre estate. The name "Clos LaChance" combines the French term "Clos," meaning a small enclosed vineyard, with Brenda's maiden name, "LaChance." The winery's symbol, the hummingbird, represents both aesthetic beauty and natural pest control. Clos LaChance is committed to sustainability, with its estate vineyard certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance since 2009.
