Chateau St. Jean Wines

Chateau St. Jean Winery and Vineyards

Established in 1973, Chateau St. Jean is a distinguished winery nestled in the heart of Sonoma County's Valley of the Moon. The winery is renowned for its commitment to crafting wines that embody the unique terroir of Sonoma's diverse vineyards. From its inception, Chateau St. Jean embraced the concept of single-vineyard wines, highlighting the distinct characteristics of individual vineyard sites—a relatively novel approach in California during that era. The estate itself exudes Old World charm, reminiscent of a French country manor, complete with manicured gardens and a grand château. Over the years, Chateau St. Jean has built a legacy of producing a broad range of high-quality varietals, including their flagship Bordeaux-inspired blend, Cinq Cépages, which garnered international acclaim by being named "Wine of the Year" by Wine Spectator in 1999 for its 1996 vintage. Their portfolio also features exceptional Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Rhône-style wines like Syrah and Viognier, each reflecting the winery's dedication to capturing the essence of Sonoma's terroir. As of 2024, under the guidance of winemaker Lisa Evich, Chateau St. Jean continues to innovate while honoring its rich heritage, offering visitors an immersive experience that celebrates both the art of winemaking and the beauty of Sonoma County.
