Macarico Aglianico del Vulture "Macarico" Basilicata Italy 2021

Aglianico is the great noble grape of the south of Italy. While less well known Brunello (for Sangiovese) or Barolo (for Nebbiolo) the historic DOC of Aglianico del Vulture makes profound and extremely long-lived reds from Aglianico. Often best with a few years in bottle these are powerful and structured reds that pair perfectly with rich grilled meats or game stews.

Tasting Notes: Powerful yet smooth, with ripe red cherry, plum, and firm tannins. Subtle spice, anise, tobacco, and a saline minerality add complexity, yielding a long, potent finish with compelling depth and a velvety structure.
