Marimar Estate
Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery, established by Marimar Torres in 1986, is a family-owned winery located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California. Marimar, a fourth-generation member of the renowned Torres wine family from Spain, ventured to California in 1975 to promote her family's wines and later decided to plant her own vineyards. The estate comprises two sustainably farmed vineyards: the Don Miguel Vineyard, named in honor of her late father, and the Doña Margarita Vineyard, named after her late mother. The Don Miguel Vineyard spans 56 acres and is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Albariño, Godello, and Tempranillo. The Doña Margarita Vineyard, located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, is dedicated to Pinot Noir. Marimar Estate is unique in California for its European-style wines, reflecting the Torres family's winemaking legacy. The winery emphasizes sustainable and organic farming practices, ensuring the health of the vineyards and the quality of the wines. Marimar's daughter, Cristina Torres, joined the winery's leadership team in 2020, bringing a fresh perspective and continuing the family's commitment to excellence.
