Her journey began with a profound experience in Bordeaux, where she celebrated her 21st birthday and developed an enduring love for fine wine. This passion led her to return to Bordeaux in her 40s to study at the University of Bordeaux, enrolling in their esteemed winemaking program. Fluent in French, Sharon immersed herself in the technical aspects of winemaking, learning from the legacy of Emile Peynaud, a pioneer in modern enology. At Rarecat Wines, she brings this wealth of knowledge and international perspective to her role, focusing on producing wines that exude elegance and a sense of place.
